I'm Tesfamichael Abebe — a software engineer from Addis Ababa with a strong foundation in full-stack development, backend AI engineering, and applied machine learning.
I'm pursuing a BSc in Software Engineering at Addis Ababa University while completing a diploma in Applied Generative AI at EPIC Institute of Technology — which is where I built EPIC++, my own statically-typed language and compiler, still my proudest work. Right now I work as an ML engineer and researcher at Synheart, modeling human states from kinematics.
The pattern across everything I build: understand the machine one layer deeper than the job strictly requires. It's why a frontend internship at a payment gateway turned into Go microservice optimization, and why a course assignment turned into a compiler.
ML Engineer & Researcher
Engineering and researching machine-learning systems for kinematics and human state recognition — modeling activity states, postural states, locomotion, and movement regularities.
AI Engineer Intern
Contributed across two teams at Ethiopia’s pioneering AI lab.
Frontend Engineer
Built and shipped production payment products for Ethiopia’s leading payment gateway.
Full Stack Developer
Built a Jira-like HR management application and wired single sign-on across three internal platforms.
Full Stack Developer Intern
A brief, focused full-stack development internship.
BSc, Software Engineering
Diploma, Applied Generative AI
I joined A2SV (Africa to Silicon Valley) this year and solve problems on LeetCode and Codeforces consistently.
